Afterschool Mentoring: A Virtual Event

Spend 45 minutes of your after-school time attending this short virtual event streaming from the Tennessee Smart Factory to connect students with young, STEM professionals. Have students log in, or consider projecting on a screen, so that they have the opportunity to ask questions of our featured speakers!

Featured Speakers

Lexi Miller, Mechanical Design Engineering Intern at Lincoln Electric

Lexi is a native of Cleveland, TN, and graduated from Walker Valley High School in 2019. She will graduate this May from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a degree in mechanical engineering and is currently serving as the president of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), the vice president of ASME, the secretary of Tau Beta Pi, and an Ambassador for the College of Engineering and Computer Science. She began working at TVA in the CADNet program as a senior in high school and eventually transitioned into a nuclear engineering internship.

Erin Pasquith, Product Design Engineer, Stanley Black & Decker, Inc.

Erin is a Product Design Engineer with 10 years of experience in manufacturing. She is passionate about manufacturing and continuous improvement. She believes strongly that a key factor to success is maintaining the mindset of being a lifelong student. Leading by example is a principle Erin strives to follow in all aspects of her life, and it is a motivating factor in her community involvement and outreach.

Raelynne van Heukelem, Engineering Student, Bryan College

Raelynne is originally from Denver, Colorado but graduated high school in Phoenix, Arizona. She is currently a junior-year engineering student with a focus in mechanical engineering at Bryan College. She is the founder and president of the SWE chapter at Bryan College, a professional liaison of Bryan college ASME chapter, and an officer of the VEX robotics club on campus. Raelynne previously interned as a product engineer at Yanfeng Automotive Interiors working on the 2023 Volkswagen Atlas interior. This summer she plans to intern at Nordson Medical in Chattanooga and hopes to pursue a career in the medical device industry after graduation.
