We need your help to speak up about the importance of afterschool and summer programs here in the great state of Tennessee.
The proposed FY26 Federal budget would eliminate dedicated funding for 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC). Nationwide, 1.4M kids across all 50 states are at risk of losing access to essential extended learning services.
Here in Tennessee alone, 21CCLC funds provide:
- $25M+ supporting
- 94 providers hosting
- 340 sites serving
- 30,000 students
Here’s how YOU can help! Let Congress know that these funds matter, that OST and extended learning are critical to the equation of student success, and Afterschool is Strong in the State of Tennessee. To join leaders across the nation (currently, 4,697 signatures) in showing support for 21st CCLC:
- Sign the Afterschool Alliance Congressional Letter
- Share this message with agencies, educators, and families within your network
- Like, Share, Repost, and Comment on TAN’s Social Media pages using the hashtags #afterschoolworks #21stCCLC
Afterschool programs make strong, healthy communities. Afterschool programs support ALICE and working parents. Afterschool programs connect young people to safe, caring environments. Because Afterschool Works!
