TN CAPS & Learning Blade

Thank you for your time to review Learning Blade and TN CAPS and  how to engage students in afterschool hours with STEM and Computer Science lessons online.  Please remember we would love some pictures and stories about your use specifically with girls.

As discussed students and afterschool educators can use both Learning Blade and TN-CAPS for engagement. We have attached reference material for both programs for your review and to share with others.

Please find attached the following:

  • Slides from our presentation (Learning Blade & TN-Caps for TAN)
  • Diagrams of all 12 missions in Learning Blade (Mission Outlines)
  • TN-Caps Programs One-Pager (Career Blade CAPS – one-pager)

Learning Blade

Learning Blade is a system of interactive online lessons and printable at-home activities for 5th to 9th graders, where students learn about STEM and Computer Science careers while reviewing academics. Students can use over 400 online lessons in 12 human-centered “Missions” or stories to explore these exciting careers aligned to standards.

Any afterschool organization or program can request their account to Learning Blade by registering at www.learningblade.com/tn.

Once they receive their online account they can log in and create student accounts easily by using “Class Codes.”

TN-CAPS

TN-CAPS is designed to provide Tennessee educators K-12 with practical, hands-on lessons that tie the subjects to careers and companies in their area that offer those careers. These lesson plans are customized for teachers’ needs based on student age range, and the industries and local businesses within each economic region in Tennessee.

To get started visit the TNCAPS website at  http://tncaps.com/

  • Choose the educator option
  • Choose the school district where your organization works
  • Choose the grade band you are working with
  • Start downloading exciting lesson plans

It would be our pleasure to help your team in getting started with either of these programs. To request a 30-45 minute PD session email info@learningblade.com. Please provide a few times that work for you and your team.

Thanks.
